Green Earthen Salt Cellar
« on: December 09, 2009, 01:54:36 am »
:)My grandmother, who passed away in 1942, owned the subject matter.  My father, who was born in 1909. told me as a child that he remembered this cellar from childhood on.  I realize that this is an antique and I would like to  pass its on to my niece.

My question is this.  There are two large markings on the sides of this cellar and many small markings around the top that resemble the German Armies Sign, a "Z".

An antique dealer once told me the actual name of the design but foolishly did not write it down,

Can anyone tell me what this design is and how I can possibly find what mfg. produced these and what these signs represent.

Thank you.
