I have had two of these painting's in 30 years. they can date back to the middle 1800's. this one looks to be the work of and amateur. $75.00 to $125.00 Dollars.

I'm with D&b on this one .

The item appears a bit more 'craftsy' than 'artsy' - no cut intended !

How should I describe this for sale online and what makes it worth $75+ if it seems to be the work of an amateur?

Aren't tole paintings made on tin or pewter? I'm pretty sure this is made on steel, because a magnet sticks to it.

Strangely enough. the ones I had a magnet would stick. I suspect there is a heavery content of metal in the tin.
