old scale, wondering what its worth
« on: January 18, 2010, 11:33:57 am »
I found an old rolling floor scale in the barn in good shape that looks pretty old and wanted to know if it was worth anything. It says it is a U.S. Standard scale that will weight up to 1000lbs. It says American Scale Co. out of Kansas City MO. on the foot of the platform. It also has the Sears, Roebuck and Co. the name plate under the model and serial number. I have not been able to find out much about the scale and was just trying to find somebody that might have some knowledge of the scales worth or were i could go to get more info. THANK YOU

Chances are it is related to the David Bradley line of farm equipment that was sold by Sears & Roebuck that was used to weigh anything from bales to grain to farm animals.

This site might offer some more insight.

I saved that S&R site myself D&b and looked through that today as well.  Had to chuckle when I saw the 6.95 price tag!!!!

I love browsing through that ever so often!!!!
