Herman Kleiner Ceramic Bust

I would like to say I'm new to the forums.

I check out antiques from time to time. I'm into pottery and ceramics.


I recently acquired a ceramic bust with an opening in the back. On the back it is copyrighted "Kleiner". On the bottom it has the following "Herman Kleiner 1949 H28"

It looks like the virgin mary with her hands together in prayer and she is in pink.

I cannot seem to find any information so any given will be helpful.

yeah was the his son. they both did it. but are not both past away. I think they were somewhere near PA area.

Apparently ome of Kleiner Sr's most recognizable work is "Nipper" the dog used to promote the Victor Talking Machine (Victrola)

Herman Joseph Kleiner Sr and Jr were craftsmen in Pa.  He founded Creek Turn Pottery in New Jersey - he produced terra cotta scuptures, pottery molds, bisque ware, lamp bases and established the company,  Dynasty,that made glazes that sold to others in the trade.

Is it a Victorian woman and could her hands possibly hold flowers?

It has a Victorian woman holding flowers and what appears to have been gold trim on ..... The design at the stem looks like praying hands or hands that are ...... Has anyone ever heard of Creek Turn pottery or ceramic dated in the 50's ...

here are some pics of the piece I have. I have not cleaned it becuase i don't want to hurt the color that is on there. just in case.

it looks a little small in the pics. but stands about 9in tall.
