Unidentified marks
« on: March 03, 2010, 05:45:56 pm »
I have these 3 penguin figurines and can not find out who made them. The marks are R,B,C. One on each figurine pressed into the pottery, the number 2487 also on each. I took an etching of each mark and posted it here with the actual figurines. Also stamped in blue is Western Germany

RK hello I believe the markings on the bottom of your penguins is A, B, C as in a series, And for some  reason I have a feeling they are Goebel-  Here is a great site !! I would try to contact them with photos & see if they can help as Hummel produced over 40,000 various items and I believe over 300 birds alone  . http://www.worldcollectorsnet.com/hummel/goebelcolumn2.html

Hope my guess is correct
good luck let us know
