I think its a coffee urn not sure ( help )

I have had this for along time and I'm not sure what it is, Ive searched the net for days and came up empty not even anything close. It has a tag on the front (American metalware company chicago ) it also has 2 patent numbers on it which i looked up they are for the switch and the heating element inside machine. Does anyone have an idea of what it is when it was made if its worth anything i would really appreciate it thank you.

thanks so much i would have never thought of that one but i still have a question, the lid on top has a sign on it that says HOT DRINK.

Multi use???  :D

Will continue the search......there must be another out there.  Possible that the advertiser couldn't  figure out what the heck it was either  ;)

This item was used at barbershops because it produced the hot water for the hot towels - but was produced by a company that made items for food service!!!

This was a desired style. See one almost at the bottom of the page that is Japanese....style look familiar?
