Fenton Stumped.
« on: March 21, 2010, 10:51:27 am »
O.K. how about another Fenton Question.  I have this vase, which appears to be a Fenton Silvercrest flower vase.  Except something just doesn't match.  I have found these all over the net, however the flower vase which is a bit taller then mine and the base or rather body of the fenton one's seems to be a bit narrower, They did put out one call a melon vase, which matches the size and roundness of the body of the vase, except the melon vase has little dimples between the curves.  Mine is 5" tall and weighs 8 oz. and There are no markings.  Could this be a Fenton, or a copy maybe? and did any other glass companies make the Silvercrest?

Ironlord, what a beautiful piece!  Love the crisp look of it - a look that spans eras!

Very nice example of Fenton silver crest. Probably made in the late 40's. Here's a little piece of info for you that will help you date Fenton milk glass. The more opaque the milk color is, the older it is. I would say that it is probably worth $20-$40.
Todays find is tomorrows treasure!

fentonfrk, that is something that most people aren't aware of.  The more opaque milk glass in general...the older it is.  The more solid/bright white...it is newer!
