Moorcroft Dog Figure - Any Value?

Purchased this little dog figure from Amble the other day, only paid 50p for it so not bothered if it has no value. It has an engraved signature which says © Moorcroft. I beleive Moorcroft if well known for his/her pottery. Can anyone give me any info on this? Thanks.

Jackson welcome , I believe the Moorcroft you are referring to is William Moorcroft who founded his own company in 1912 and is quite famous for his work & future pieces from Moorcroft. His company as far as I know did not produce any animal figures and I am familiar with their work. The quality of Moorcrofts work is exceptional and of very high quality. Even high enough to be awarded the Royal Warrent. They are famous for floral & fruit patterns ranging into the $1,000.00s for an original piece. your piece is  not done by them as quality does not seem to be  of their standard and I find no reference to any animals. sorry

Thank you for the information Wendy, It looks pretty old is it possible it could still of been done by William Moorcroft? I think it's most likely done by mold so probably isn't worth much.

Jackson your piece is mold done ,  The method of production originated by William Moorcroft in 1897 is almost exactly the same today. Most pieces are still turned on the lathe to perfect the shape all hand done. The designs are applied by Tubelining or Sliptrailing, a process by which the raised outline is squeezed onto to the pot in the form of a fine extrusion of liquefied clay or slip squeezed through a glass tube from a bag held in the hand. The process is not unlike that used in icing a cake. check www.moorcroft.com  and you will see a huge difference in your piece as to what Moorcroft produced & still does.
