Kaiser Wilhelm II Meissen Figurine Question...

I have another Meissen question... I am looking into buying a Meissen figurine of Kaiser Wilhelm II. I am confused as to why the crossed swords marking at the bottom of the item is the same as the markings from around the 1763 era, when Kaiser Wilhelm II was not born until almost a century later. This is a picture of the marking on the bottom of the Wilhelm II figurine.

Can anyone tell me why the marking does not go along with the time that Wilhelm II was around?

    I have read and learned here that meissen mark is one of the most faked mark in the porcelain world.  That mark would probably fool me considering I know very little about Wilheim II period. Not yet at least  . Sure someone will come along and set me straight  .  Anyway do you have pic available of the whole figurine, this would sure help the others when they reply, as for me I'm just curious

gor Ironlord is correct BEWARE  The Meissen mark was coppied by numerous other leading factories in Europe & England and is certainly no guarantee of authenticity. You are correct as that is the mark Meissen used in 1763. Huge red flag as time line does match Meissens mark & Wilhelm II being alive. Photos of the figure would be great to see.

Thank you for the help! In the item description the seller states that...
 "As best as I can determine, the figurine was produced by MEISSEN between 1924 and 1934.  On the bottom of the base you will find  the famous MEISSEN crossed swords.  Also, the number 688 is incised above the swords, as pictured below.  As for recent history, I purchased this item in Berlin, from an elderly East German couple, months after the wall fell in 1989."
 I will link some pictures of the item below. I really like this figurine, I'm just concerned about the fact that the marking was about 100years before his time.

Frankly I'am thinking, it lacks the detail you would expect from a Meissen figure.

Not KSPM Meissen.

gor5505, your gut feeling was spot on as the mark period does not match.

No big deal but still a dead giveaway: the KSPM Meissen states over and over again that their original figural porcelain items *NEVER* have blue eyes!

great info on the eyes Chris Thanks, that is like Llardro only uses brown on eyes(eyebrows etc) never black.

That is good to know about the eyes.

The Meissen marks are so frustrating to me. It is so hard to tell the age of Meissen pieces. I have a few family Blue Onion oldies and although I have seen that there are tiny differences in the style of the crossed swords, it seems to be extremely hard to tell the date on these pieces. I love the British registration symbols and numbers. It makes it so easy to date and trace them.
