antique metal gas mask sign???
« on: April 12, 2010, 02:52:51 am »
I bought this sign recently for about $25 and I am wondering if anyone has any idea where these were used or what the actual value of one is..... It really is a cool sign, I am sorry the picture quality isnt better, but if you saw it up close you can tell its been around for a while.

Possibly a visual reminder at a factory or plant where the mask was required in that area.  Havent seen any military signs like that.

Turned upside down, it kind of looks like an alien.  ;)

Wayward, I laughed out loud!!!  Love the humor in this group!

deadsled, does it have any indications where it was made?  On my trip to S Korea we stayed in a Hilton.  Our room had a wooden box next to the luggage rack - under the clothes hangers.  There was a sign similar (not the same) to the one you have, attached to the lid.  And yep....inside were masks in case of nuclear fallout or whatever in the event of an attack from N Korea.
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!
