trying to identy use of glassware

I have 4 long low heavy rectangular cut glass pieces about 10-12 " long 3 1/2 deep and 3 " wide narrowing a bit in the middle.  There there is a half moon cut out on center of  each side . They have  handles at both ends.  What in the world are they used for??

No, sorry they are stored. I was asking someone about them today and just thought about getting on line to see if anyone had a clue.

Just going by the dimensions it may be a cracker tray. Maybe somebody else has a better guess but without a picture it's hard.

    I'm visualizing Corn on the cob dish.  MMmmmm Crackers and corn on the cob.

I am not a glassware person but a picture is worth a thousand words.  I relish a relish tray or a dip of the crackers in a dish for dipping.

Do they have feet or legs on them? Don't ya love these guessing games.

My first thought was a cracker tray or a corn holder, but it has square corners and narrows in the middle, neither would fit. Iv'e got Cambridge corn holders and the half moon dip is at the ends  where you would rest corn holders when you set your ear of corn down. Also the half moon dip in the center on both sides where it narrows has to have some use. Sorry I can't get a pix at this time.

Without a picture to go by, it is very difficult to visualize exactly what these look like.  The narrower middle with crescent cutouts is the problem (I think).  Would these half-moon or crescent cutouts have fit into something like metal frame, buffet line, warming dish, etc.?

Maybe you could draw a picture from memory, scan it, and post it?  A drawing would be a big help.

Waywarddangler you are a wonder. That's exactly what they look like.
For two or three years everyone was wondering what these were.  I never thought about going on line until yesterday and here you are with the answer! I would never have thought about  a relish dish. Are the half moon incuts for resting the forks or tongs?

Yes, I imagine the indents are for laying a spoon or pickle fork or two.  I Googled diff descriptions (started with very specific and ended with general) but finally hit with 'antique glass relish dish' and just scrolled through pics on sites until one looked like it matched your description.  It was pure luck to actually hit your glassware right on the money.
