Newbie lookin for answers

Hi all!!!
I just recieved this interesting set from a family member and im looking for some info on it, and maybe an approximate worth??? Smiley

Neat set you've got there! The writing on the front of the larger figure is a famous Barvarian proverb about drinking, I was able to get that much, but I couldn't get a good translation online. Maybe someone else with better translation skills will have better luck?

I found an interesting hallmark database, but I didn't see yours listed. Maybe you'll have better luck with it than me.
