Coal Miners lunchbox
« on: April 27, 2010, 09:04:37 am »
I found this old lunch box the other day and the guy I bought it from(paid $5 for it) said it was a coal miners lunch box. after looking around on the web, I think I agree with him but cant find too much info on this exact one.  It is a wear ever model number 240. It is about 9 x 6 inches and made of aluminum. It is well worn and fairly dented but I think it looks cool.  Anyone know about what its worth?

I do not think it is 'specific' to coal miners.  Could have been used by anyone as a lunch box.  WearEver was/is a large manufacturer of aluminum utensils/products.

Similar 'coal miners' lunch boxes by different or unknown manufacturers are on the web listed from $15-30.  They are still for sale so I would think the value is less or the demand is not there at the listed prices.

There's one for sale (same thing, wearever 240) on Worthpoint. I'm not signed up with them so I can't see the price. But here's the link

All parts there, minor damage $20 - $15.  Pristine $30 - $40
