Help on a few pieces
« on: May 25, 2010, 06:18:07 pm »
Hiya!

I was wondering if anyone can help me. I've got a few pieces I am unable to identify.

These are yard sale finds etc... but I'm clueless

Any help appreciated  If someone can offer some help I'd be willing to pay a little. If that's allowed here.

Thanks

Peace
Lee

Nice stuff dreamerscove.  Looks like the stuff I have lots of  ;).   It appears the second item is a American prescut item, not 100% for sure can't quite make out the pattern.  You have a couple of items that may be EAPG, I will have too look around my books a bit for the patterns.  Your milk glass item looks like it could be a hobnail, but can't see the side, and as for the celery dish, I have two just like it, want a pair  ;).  I will try and look around a bit for you a bit later, but just thought I would say Hello and welcome to the forum.  Been kinda down and out for the last week with a major ear infection but will try and help out a bit later.

What we get in return for researching antique pieces is that we all learn from each other. There is such a wide range of knowledge on the forum. It's not only fun and challenging, but addicting!

Thanks for the welcome :)

Which one is a celery dish?  Speaking of addicting - that is absolutely true!

Actually I think you have two celery dishes, that one I was talking about it the one with the starbust on it.  I have been looking for that pattern too, but pretty sure it is a post 40's EAPG look alike .  The other one I saw look like it has a depression style too it.  These are long narrow dishes usually called celery dishes, made for celery stalks served at the table, even though they make good olive dishes too  ;).  MMMM love olives  ;D.
