On the walking stick:
If I'm correct on the wood, it looks like this is a very nicely modified shillelagh (pronounced sha-lay-lee). These are very light but sturdy traditional walking sticks made in Ireland from blackthorn wood. Typically these run about $50 - $100 US dollars if you are purchasing one that is new. 1890 looks to be the age of this one from the inscription, and the modifications and customization would certainly add to the value. Some of these also double as subtle club-like weapons because of their strength. The tip on the bottom is to protect the end of the wood from wear. It looks like the protrusion once fit into a rubber "stopper" at the end which is gone now. The wrapping on the handle looks very typical of the style used to wrap a riding crop (little whip used to control horses)
It looks like a nice, custom item although I'm surprised by the extreme bend in it, which may affect the value, along with the condition issues on the wrapping. Neat custom item and I'm sure we can find some other examples of antique shillelagh for you.
