Cut Crystal Wine Glass, Stumped
« on: June 22, 2010, 10:14:31 pm »
I have this Wonderful Cut Crystal Wine Glass, I picked up for believe it or not 3 bucks,  Been trying to find some information but am having a bit of a hard time.   It has a Amber tone Glass with very deep EAPG Style pattern or ACG pattern. (Pre Depression).  Not sure it is old, after looking around a bit it is possible it is a very high end modern Wine glass.  It has a hallmark that I have not been able to track.  I need a good site that references Cut Crystal Hallmarks.  The hallmark appears to be a Crown N, Then I started to look at maybe a V.  I found a company that makes this style called Varga, wow they want 100.00 to 300.00 for one glass.  I did find a varga logo but don't look like this, so my hope of a super elite crystal has been put on hold.  I'm going back to search the N letter.  Just thought I would see if anyone can help.

Arggghh, registered for this site only to find out I would have to register as at least a Limited Access User for 10.00 Eur
to find out who your maker was. :P

Sapphire you really rock thanks that was the clue I needed.  It is made by Naughtmann.  Didn't find the pattern name at replacements but it is their style.  Again thanks I owe you another one.  ;)

Time for wine and then to hurl the glass against a wall!  At least I think that is the drill.  I never made it to hurling the glass.  I just stayed with the wine drinking.  ;D

OK, now you have to tell me where you found it and where ???  Either something gave you a hint or I was so
bug-eyed I totally missed it.

O M G ! That shows you I was definitely tired . I focused in on the "crown/N" on the right and didn't even
glance at the others. Just got frustrated when the link underneath it took me nowhere. :D

Reminder to self.......don't hunt with your eyes half closed.  :P

Yea When I bought it a the thrift store I was trilled, Figured at least 30 years old, but seems it is only a few years old.  I did find several on Ebay in Blue, but non of these in Amber, or they call them copper.  Looks like buy it now price is about 50.00, but no sales on that price.  Now to decide if I start my opening price at 19.99, or 9.99  ???  Sinc I only paid 3 bucks I'm sure to win on this one at least.  And Sapphire even when you are half asleep you still rock, Thanks again

Sorry to bump this back in to play, just thought I would let you know, I did post this last weekend, Decided to go for the 19.99, and yesterday it got it first bid, and has 5 watchers, guess 19.99 was a good call, once again thank you sapphire for the info.
