It will be fun to see what they do with POTC IV. I know that Orlando Bloom (Will Turner) has opted out of this one. I got to meet Marty Klebba (Pirate Marty in POTC I, II and III. You'll remember him as the pirate who is a little person) We hosted the fan event for POTC III and he made an appearance. He and a few other cast members have also come to the Pirate Faire in Ojai CA and they have been very nice people to work with. They are usually there helping to raise funds for charities.
The whole cast has actually been quite open to fans and pirate reenactors which is really nice. During the filming of POTC III, Johnny Depp saw a friend's pirate bus pulled off to the side of the road. They are a pirate group that came out to cheer the cast on as they came and went from the film site. Depp had his bus pull over and he and a couple of cast members came out, met the pirates, shook hands and took photos with them after they had been there all day cheering them on. Very cool of him to do that when he really didn't have to at all.
We got to perform at the south bay press premier for POTC I. That was a really fun one, with a 24 pirate sword fight that took place all throughout the theater!
