Cowhide Chairs

I have these two old cowhide chairs.  I think the chairs are also handmade, but this is the only picture I have of them at the moment.

The one on the right is in pretty good shape, but the one on the left, the seat is sagging.  What is a proper cleaner to use on the seats to bring them back into good condition?

I would saddle up and head for the nearest equestrian/tack/western store. Ask their opinion on saddle soap. I used it for years with excellent results on my saddles, but currently I'm seeing some articles speaking out against using it. I would read up, then ask questions.

Soap may not be the best for preservation. I actually prefer to use a leather oil on my tack and leather goods- it soaks into the leather and makes it more supple, and helps prevent cracking and breakage.
