This old picture has been sitting in an upstairs bedroom for a long time. This came from my stepdad's family in southern Illinois. His grandad was a Civil War Soldier who came home from that conflict and built a house which passed down to succeeding generations. The house was full of old items and when my mom married him they decided to move to Kansas and only brought what my stepdad didn't want to part with. This picture was one of those items. As is always the case, I simply didn't ask enough questions about the old things. I'm sure it's not worth a lot but would like to know more about it.
The picture proper is almost 36" high and 10" wide. It is printed in many colors, the jewels on the ladys dress are red, green and blue. The gem in her brooch at her neckline is realistically painted and the picture reminds me of maybe an old theatre poster but I think that it isn't that. The frame, which is nothing much, was coming apart and I removed the picture and repaired the frame. While out of the frame I went over it pretty well and the only printing I could find on it was "Roman Beauty "Pro........... Maybe "products" maybe not. I don't know. What do you do with old things like this? Did they make calendars this large maybe with the dates and days at the bottom? Any ideas or suggestions gratefully accepted. Jon
