Lithograph - J. Cliff Hutchins
« on: August 14, 2010, 04:49:38 pm »
I have what appears to be a lithograph that was given to me by my father and belonged to my great-grandmother decades before he had it.

The artist is J. Cliff Hutchins (M&B NY). I've googled and found the exact print at an auction in 2001 without any more details than that which I already know. Plus, I've seen some other prints that are similar in theme by this artist.

Anyone know the value of this print?

Thanks,
John

John, this is the closest I've come yet to anything resembling a value on his work, scroll down to the highlighted title about halfway on the page.  Could only grab this from google cache, (the site doesn't seem to be available) so can't access the rest of the description or answer.  But it does give an estimated value  ;)

Your colored litho. is likely to bring $250.00 to $ 300.00 Dollars at a good auction.

I really think this needs to be taken out of that frame to evaluate it further.  Trimming, rippling, water spots, etc. could devalue this print if found on the image.

I'm not sure I could get this frame back together again. I have a feeling that a new frame would have to be used and that takes away from the family value since this still means a lot to my father.

Thanks for all of your replies.
