Thun Coffee Set
« on: August 17, 2010, 02:21:55 pm »
Hi been given this to sell, does anyone have any info or valuations please? It was brought 55 years ago by my mother-in-law in a Stoke on Trent antique shop

Welcome to the forum sar. For anyone to be able to give you any info or point you in the right directions we really need to see pictures. Both of the pattern and the markings on the bottom. Also, what pieces does the set include. Cheers!

If you're pulling direction from your pictures on your computer, it won't show up when you preview your post. Once you 'Post" it will come up......unless the size is too large, but you would receive an alert for that.  If you're still having problems try using Photobucket or another uploading site. Then copy your Image code and past here. If I didn't make that sound sensible there is a sticky on the first page of this section (Questions Forum) that give clear instructions on how to upload

Much better !!  ;) That will help members in assisting you with whatever info we have or can find.

One question though, is it a trick of light , dust or is the gold plating missing (worn off) some of the pieces?

Sorry sar, just got in from work and saw your post. The nearest I could come without seeing the maker's marks is to steer you to Replacements.com. They have several pages of Thun, where you may find the replacement value. That may mean going pattern by pattern, which I haven't had time to do.  Take a scan over these, see if there are any numbers or a pattern name on your set.....hope this helps a bit.

For Marks identification and years made refer to Count Thun Porcelain Factory Marks
