Central Scientific Co. Resistance Box?

I have acquired an Old Central Scientific Co. item. I have looked rather extensively online for a match and the closest i can find is that it is an old Resistance Box. They used them in university science labs from what i can gather around 1920 to 1957. If anyone can tell me anything more or what it could be worth i would appreciate it. It is for sale so ill consider any reasonable offers.

    Are the top pegs made of Brass?   My first thought is a device to test electical resistance between the two polarities, just a guess though.    With no clue on early electronics my value guess is just that.  But I can see this getting into the $50.00 to a collector.  Pretty cool item

Yes the whole top part of it is brass. It definitely is cool but i cant find these things anywhere. The only one that looked close is on display at athens college

If you type in "antique resistance" on ebay there are a few similar ones from the same time period. Although they are different companies, it should give you a good idea of value and age. I'd say yours is early, around 1918.

if anyone knows anybody into this kind of stuff please show them this. I really want this to go to someone who will display it because its a neat piece of history. Make them a great deal on it.

Thanks guys. i got two text message alerts last night about those bids and that sure shook me out of a deep sleep. I guess somebody knows what this thing is. In a couple days ill have something else to show you guys, its a 17th century pewter tankard. looks really interesting but its still in the mail.

Ok my compadres. i have a new item. It is the pewter Tankard i mentioned. I know it is from smithfield england it was used at the Fox and Anchor inn. it has some markings on it but i have not been able to track down what they mean. Any ideas?
