American Indian artifact prices are usually based on age, condition, authenticity, craftmanship, and rarity of the piece.Provenance is also a criteria.I've personally collected artifacts and researched them since I was was a "youngin",over forty years. My collection came almost entirely as surface finds from our family farm.I myself have never bought, sold or even as much traded a piece, but others do.An authentic collection DOES have value, how much?A knowledgeable buyer will determine that.IF your thinking about "lending'' to a museum -get the proper assurance it IS a loan situation.I don't want to discredit any museum,if someone leaves for any reason make sure your artifacts don't get ''lost''.There are a number of sites and forums you can visit other than ebay that wil give you a better understanding on what you actually have.Tnet is a good place to start.
