folk art painting?
« on: October 23, 2010, 05:43:04 pm »
This one looks like ink or dye on some type of linen.  I can't find anything like it out there, but it reminds me of folk art paintings a little.  Maybe even a faux betik style.  Any ideas?  Sorry for the reflections in the glass.  The dye is just as vibrant on the back.  But again, I didn't want to take anything out of the frames without permission.

I like this one , marcylove .

It does appear to be batik , to my eyes .

This one is 'begging' for an acid-free mounting !

I really like this one as well.  I will try to get it before it heads to goodwill or something!

Thanks!

I found some batik wax resist on cloth examples online.  It was a blog about Folk art from Poland.  Now to try and date and price it..
