Antique Jewelry Case from China?

It has been in my family well in excess of 100 years. Can anyone tell me more about it. The hinges have tiny metal dowels inside them. Great detail with tiny figures. The rear might have a signature in black but I'm not from China. It is about 4 inches long. Troy

 Yes, it is painted porcelin. The metal is brass or similar. Troy
