Guess it would make a nice necklace.  If they are as rare as he says,, how has he been selling them over 30 years as stated in description?  Just sounds fishy !!

Rare is grossly overused as an adjective.  Very rare even worse.  I am with mart on these.  If they are "rare", how can he be selling these for over 30 years.

I'm going to wear it, but I tried looking it up and couldn't find it, but I remebered in my books sometheing similar. It was it of course, lol I like it anyway. Isadora Duncan did auction off her jewelry when she had no money left. For $10.00 I figure why not.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isadora_Duncan  She is considered by many to be the creator of Modern Dance and inspired many artists both during and after her life.  She is probably not the designer/owner but certainly the inspiration. She died in 1927.

Nice piece...

I didn`t mean it was a bad price. Just that it wasn`t an original. Don`t think even Isadora Duncan would have that many of the same thing !

If there are so many, why can't I find one? He could have phrased it wrong. I've looked on ebay and searched the web. The dancers are taken from her style of dance.

I think what the seller is saying is that he/she has sold multiple items like this over the years and has the stock from a store that was never sold. I started looking at other auctions by this seller and this is his/her old store stock from a store that he/she owned in the late 1980's. Not unsold stock from a store in the 1920's as the ad would imply. Considering there were muliples of this item in the 1980's I don't think anything but the style of the figure is going to be 1920's. I just don't see anything there that looks antique. It looks like modern etching to me, not something done by hand, although it is hard to tell in the photos. I also don't see anything that looks antique in the beads at the top.

What I usually do when I'm looking for antique jewelry is to find a type that I like and learn as much as I can before I bid on anything, even if it looks like a good deal. For example, I really like antique "panel" bracelets. I leared that you could tell the new ones from the old really easily by looking at the clasps. Old ones had box clasps. There are wonderful Victorian filligree ones, hand-painted Chinese ones on bone panels, and Turkish ones hand-painted on mother of pearl. Mourning jewelry and Catholic relic jewelry are also really interesting to collect.

But for $10.50 .... seems OK to me, and quite pretty.

Thanks, the piece I saw in my mind was a La L'ique, probably spelt that wrong. It must have been the etching that got me, and I didn't check first. I liked it anyway.

My whole point was not to focus on the word "rare" in a heading, especially on eBay.  If you like the piece, then bid and buy, but not because the seller connotated it was "rare".  Very few antiques are actually "rare".

Lalique is what you mean I think, if you are talking about glass pieces.

Very Pretty Greenacres but I do not think it is rare I would bet this is the same seller  who sold 2 in 2006.  http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/2-isadora-duncan-glass-pendants-1920-s-very  and I bet if you searched enough you would find more. I am guessing they had been attached to a lamp, candelabra or a chandelier at one time & removed and sold separately, just the feeling I get. But will make a lovely pendant :D

It's either the same seller, their clone, or someone who has stolen their MO!

You could be right about them being droplets, attached to a lamp, would make a very pretty one indeed. Will also make a nice piece of pendant, Greenacres.
