ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THIS IS ???? Prayer bench???

I just got this at a yard sale and the person i bought it from told me they had no idea what it was.  However, I noticed the word "parrish" in some type of chalk or white pencil on the bottom. The legs are shorter on one side than the other so it appears to be something you would kneel on.  It looks really antiquated and I am really curious to see if anyone here has any ideas of what this is and possible value??

It looks like it was upholstered at some point in the past. Also, although it's hard to tell, but have the legs on one side been cut down? It looks as if they may have been judging by pic 3, but could be wrong.

Parrish could have been the owner's name, the buyer's name, the store's name, or a thought that vanished phonetically.

I've no idea what a Wisconsin accent sounds like, wayward (touch of deja vu there), but that pun works beautifully if I imagine an Aussie accent!  ;D

Wisconsinites do not have accents (at least that is what we think).  When I travel, people that do have accents know I am from Wisconsin because of my accent.  Imagine that!  I have no clue what they are talking about!   ;D
