Antique Henry Barker Secretary, need help in value?
« on: March 13, 2011, 05:54:24 pm »
Have this secretary, going to try and sell it for a friend......It is marked on the back with a brass label as follows
Hery Barker Ltd
Cabinet Maker/upholsterer
Nottinham, A. M
It is dusty, but in excellent conditon; I searched a lot of sites, found history on the maker, but no values, only found similar desks but none had the bowed glass in the panes, nor were they as "simple" as this piece..... I appreciate any help !

I think this is a delightful piece!!!!  What did you find out about the maker?
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

I found out he lived in Nottingham , born 1818 died 1899,so I guess this is pre 1899, just dont know how to find the worth, have not found anything like it so far,and cant seem to find a site about him with any pictures
