@waywardangler -   Until you mentioned the flag silks, I hadn't given it a thought, but that does appear to be what they used.

Yup  That's what they are Wayward I have some tobacco pieces like these but mine are flannel and separate not quilted yet. Such a wonderful keepsake tmerrifield. Large ones go for some high prices.I have seen some go for $300.00 and higher depending on size.

It is definately something that will  be passed down to future generations.  Luckily my ancestors were packrats also.
