I have recently started going through boxes of antique pottery/china and other things that belonged to my grandmother before she passed away. i came across an interesting vase that I am hoping to find information on. I believe it is called a cloisonne and that it may be possibly japanese. There does not seem to be any noticeable makers marks on it. However, while looking at the inside of the vase with a small flashlight, i did notice that there seems to be some kind of drawing on the inside.I tried taking a picture of it so I could include it with this post so that others could see what i am talking about. It appears to looks like maybe a dragon??? of some sort or a snake??? I hope someone here will maybe know something about this piece or its possible history. Thanks in advance for any help or information you may be able to give me.

Welcome to the forum , kim818 .
Nice little vase .

Your item appears to be Japanese (to me , only from your images) , and is commonly known as a "champleve" ( a version of what we in the West call 'cloisonne' ) vase .

I'm just not able to see your posted image of the figure you've mentioned (on the base) well enough to comment on it .

Usually a "well-made" piece has a makers mark.  Well made here means expensive.

I do think it is a rather pretty piece....and was most likely made for a reasonable $ purchase.  Doesn't look that old in the style/method (don't believe it is an antique which is 100+ years).

I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

It seems you think that the painting of the Dragon is inside the vase .. That would be fairly unusual and relatively tricky as it seems quite small .. or is it larger than it appears? To get a clearer picture of the inside (using my camera) I would shine a strong beam into it, then photograph it, using a zoom and macro, from c 18 inches away, but it all does depend upon the size of the neck
