Need more information...please help!
« on: April 22, 2011, 04:47:28 pm »
I recently found these items in a storage unit I purchased, and I noticed that they seemed to be hand painted and very nicely made.  The only mark I could find was on Santa, and it read "Atlantic Mold".  Could someone tell me if these are collectible items?  Each one stands over 12" tall, and they are in excellent shape.  The Christmas Tree is actually a two piece item, and is an electric lamp that lights up.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  PS: I apologize for the quality of the photos.

AP I think those were handmade ceramics.......as in the hobby type handmade.

Atlantic Mold ceased operations in July 2001

Here is their archived website.....

Not likely of great $$ value, they definitely are attractive and would be nice to hold on to.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think those ceramic trees were all the rage in the 70's.  I know we had one growing up  ;D

Oh! and yes it was handmade...  One by my Aunt and my Gma had one she made as well!

Oceans64...you are correct....they were the rage in the late 60's to 70's and are still used by many as hand-me-down Christmas memory items!

Were a big thing to make in ceramics classes and buy at places like Sears, Pennys, etc.....
