Been talking over this one with fancy; we don't know what components were painted gold & stripped off & other info.
Maybe this was a gold-gilded bronze lamp, rewired with modern electrics- if so, too bad about removing the 'paint' from it.
If you've got something that is bronze, we suggest you disassemble the unit & look for a signature on the metal, esp. around the i/s base area. You might also look for any misc. older parts within the assembly.
If the lamp is just a 'modern' repro that somebody gave the shabby-chic treatment, maybe you can just plug it in & enjoy it anyways .
