ID help
« on: June 15, 2004, 08:08:41 am »
It is kind of crude in it's making.  Ceramic with 2 sided face on it.  Almost the type of abstract from someone like Picasso (even though we know that would not be the case) About 5 1/2 inches tall.  Markings on bottom just st  ate either 9905/or 9955/with a weird marking next to it I can't figure out.  Then another strange marking almost looks like a disfigured number sign then Italy in black markings.  I must say it is the ugliest piece of ceramic I have ever seen.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  And thank you for your time.  Unsure how to post a picture.  But if you like I could send one out in a email response.  That I can do.

Hello........I'm not predicting what you have because I'm not familiar with the markings, but Picasso did ceramic work in the 1950's. What l have seen of his pottery etc. is of the same stye he would put on canvas. His pottery like his paintings are highly sought.........Resp ectively......Tim B)
