If I remember correctly, someone had one of these posted on here about a year ago. I do not remember the value.

OK, here you go...http://www.antique-shop.com/forums/index.php/topic,6603.0.html

One with two inserts and near mint condition sold for $120 (14 bids) on ebay this month.

I honestly like yours better.........more character and definitely it's own history  ;)

Wow, another (one insert) sold in April for $177 (17 bids) !!

Nice! And you know I like mine better too :) I prefer to have something that I know was used, you can't see it in the picture but the edge of the handle is worn so you can just see a touch of the wood so I tried to figure that out and put stuff in the pail for weight, it is exactly where your forefinger would sit to carry it! I think that's so awesome. I still can't figure out what year they were made, any ideas?

I agree…hold on to it awhile longer….it will only go up in $$!

Like yours better as well - and yours was typically used as a miner's bucket!

They also made lunch boxes, thermos, etc…...

Agree, and avoid any temptation to scrub it clean!

I agree, I love to see worn things that carry the scars of daily use. There's nothing more personal or historical than that! You can think of the miner kissing his wife at the door and carrying his pail down into the mine day after day...

I only dust the top and yes this will be with me for a very long time! Now to see if there is a history to go with it, I was helping my Mom and Step dad move from the house he grew up in, Mom ask me if I wanted it (along with some other things I have been posting), I said sure not having a clue what it was. Anyway his family is from Poland so it very well could have been from them!

Or my Mom, like me, thought it was neat and bought it at a yard sale :)~

Tales that is soooo funny, I was envisioning the wife making her husband lunch, can you tell what I do everyday :)
