Bracelet info
« on: June 04, 2011, 11:08:01 am »
My granddaughter recently uncovered this lovely bracelet in a family trunk.  It is a woven floral design, and is marked sterling in two places.  The bracelet does not appear to besolid, as it has several dents throughout.  It measures 2 3/4 inches in diameter.  If anyone could shed light on its history, I'm sure she would be delighted to hear it.  Thanks in advance.

That is lovely! Bracelets made from metal tubes were popular in the Victorian era, I have a copper tube bracelet that belonged to my great-grandmother. Without a maker's mark on it it is awfully hard to know much about it. I would be very careful if you wear it since sterling can dent or bend easily. Keep it for special occasions when the most strenuous thing you'll be doing is lifting a champagne glass! Beautiful!
