I see the inner poet is coming out Wayward!
Possibly share your suspicions .. also I can't understand someone selling a job lot, when it would make far more sold as individual lots??
Odd to have so few feedbacks over 5 years, but back in March seemed to have auctioned off a similar sized hoard for just over $8000. Most peculiar???

Just checked previous posts .. same last year!

Theeoldpoet channeled theeinnerpoet in me, mario.  ;D  Quite possibly I may be considering a user name change.  It all depends on if the channeling continues.

A most suspicious post and auction on eBay. So I have looked at some bidding history by some of the "bidders" and some look quite suspicious. 2 bidders basically bid on sports memorabilia and now all of a sudden they throw a bid on this auction that has 0 sports memorabilia? The top bidder has 65 for feedback and is bidding $8000 and over half of their bids in the last 30 days are with this seller. I just do not see how anyone can bid so much money on an auction where most of the coins are not specifically listed. It may be worth it but how would one know exactly what they are getting just from the pics?

Common sense would say,, if you don`t know what you are doing,, don`t bid !! Good way to lose your drawers !!

I am not a coin freak, but I believe there are Hungarian Forint (and the fraction, Filler) and at least one British Penny in that lot. Then there were some 'modern' French Francs and I think I spotted a German Mark (and the fraction, Pfennig) ... all circulated coins left over from before the introduction of the Euro (2002).

The 'complete' 9-Piece Chocolate Pot/Tea Set is (for British tea) missing a creamer (and perhaps a sugar) but is not for CHOCOLATE or Cocoa as those had the spouts fed low to deliver the beverage from under the quickly accumulating skin which simply clogged up high-spouts.

"French Nippon", my foot - the true term is "Asian import stuff made to appear French" - in this case also missing a lid (and we all know how much such items are 'worth').

The "Large French Style Vase" screams 'recent Asian import'.

And yup, another NPSK a.k.a. 'DOW SIE COT URE' item the seller probably was previously unable to sell on eBay even after pulling all registers.

Schumann Arzberg bowl (genuine, but I can buy them here in Germany for near a Dollar a piece).

"Jean Honore Fragonard" ... professionally framed in Beverly Hills, huh? That may be, but I personally would demand seeing the bill for it :)
