Hi, Forum, I need your help
« on: June 25, 2011, 05:30:10 pm »
I'm an antiquing hobbyist, but occasionally find some nice treasures. My preference in stores are shops somewhere between junky and nice. I collect an odd assortment of stuff that pleases me aesthetically and that is also functional, e.g., odd old boxes like cigar presses (they make very interesting sculpture to hang on a wall), McCoy pottery in a particular hue of light green or aqua, and old kitchen implements.

I have an unusual and beautiful set of Epiag Aich bone china, made in Czechoslovakia before 1940. I have place settings for 12 plus numerous serving pieces. I bought it in about 1983 from two elderly twin sisters. It's time for me to sell it. I'm actually afraid to use it for fear of chipping or breaking any of the pieces. Of the 99 pieces in this set, there is only one damaged cup. It has a hairline crack.

The pattern is quite beautiful--and I have always found the cups to be particularly unusual in that they are straight sided. I see that there is only one set of Epiag Aich china listed on eBay, and it is not nearly as extensive as mind. The seller is asking about $800 for it.

Besides eBay, does anyone have suggestions for how I can get the word out on this beautiful china? I want to sell it to someone who will really appreciate it.

Thanks everyone for your help.
