Hand painted wall map
« on: July 03, 2004, 02:59:10 pm »
I have a map that is about 4 feet by 5 feet hand painted on a piece of 1/2 thick wood.  It is a map of St. Louis.  I have written to the Missouri Historical Society with a list of mentioned land marks.  They believe that it is from the early 30's but are not quite sure.  I have tried my own research on the internet - but have not been very successful.  The map is "Signed" in the lower right hand corned by " Robt Reid". I have two questions:  How can I pinpoint the origin of this piece and possibly get some history?  And how can I get it cleaned, along with instruction on how to take care of it.

Please advise.
