Looking for information on how much this is worth?
« on: July 13, 2011, 03:22:13 pm »
porcelain statue of nude woman on one foot with her hands in the air.  on the bottom of the statue it has a lion in a circle with the letter LHS with GERMANY underneath that.  Also, kutschenreuther then a sticker that says hutschenreuther selb.  the porcelain also is indented with TUTIER (not sure if that is it-hard to read)

Hutschenreuther,  Seems to sell rather well, I have had a couple items for them that sold pretty good, appears to have a good collector base, which is good.  Just did a quick search on ebay, and there is 70+ pages of hutschenreuther items for sale, but looking at the completed listing I saw 3 nude items and they sold for around $300.00.

It seems to be the nature of the antiques market that the fewer the clothes the higher the price tag. Looks an interesting piece you've got there, and Ironlord is spot on. But don't forget that condition is everything. One chip or crack and the price can plummet.

But in real life, the more clothes the higher the price and it just keeps going up and up!  ;D

A pair always adds a premium. We'll see if this perfect condition pair sells at this price...

Beautiful art deco piece c1930 !!!  The "indented with TUTIER "  you mentioned Is the artists name but it is Tutter - Famous artist Karl Tutter, He was a leading designer for Hutschenreuther for almost forty years. He joined Hutschenreuther in 1922 as a sculptor His figurines remain some of the most collectible of Hutschenreuther pieces. art deco nudes by Tutter in a good market $500.00 in this market Ironlord is right on $300.00 but she must be in mint condition with NO flea bites or cracks. again beautiful piece.  :)

Here are the completed listings. One (your exact one) sold for $250 and one for $98. I don't think it will ever bring $500, at least not for another 25 years or so. ;)
There were also several of yours that went unsold for less than $250, so it is kind of a hit and miss.

I am wondering if this market is like the Lladro market which is depressed?  The porcelain figures appear similar. Limited runs that keep the initial collectors in but over the long run the market demand drops as the new collectors lose interest?

I see the pair for $400 went wanting. That tells me the market is well below $200 for one.

I don't think Hutschenreuther would be considered as limited Edition item.  Most limited Edition items they make it sound like only 1000 will be made, I would gambit that most items made by "legit" companies may not even make that many of a item.  That is the thing about limited Edition selling overall, every item out there is Limited to a certain number of items, most seasoned collectors have learned that when it say limited edition that means they made a lot of them.  I think here we are looking at a overall depressed market on most Figurines out there.  Hummel being a prime example, as there value has pretty much dropped off the charts, been seeing a few go through the Auction house I frequent, and they don't go for much at all.  However This item has a couple things going for it.  First Nudes sell, Hutschenreuther items still sell pretty good, and I would gambit that if one was to post this for $200.00 it would sell, maybe it would take a couple maybe three times listing it, but I bet it would sell.  I personnally have not got a chance to test this, but nude items at the auction house still goes for good money overall.

Hosman's post had one sell for $98 with $14 shpg and it was in perfect condition and it had 11 bids spread between 4 bidders. The other one sold at "best offer" for $250. Go figure. That buyer is probably wishing they would have bid on the $98 one or maybe they have more money than brains.
