I had a set very similar to those that I bought at a farm auction some 30 years ago. I gave them to my parents thinking they would use them. That never happened and I became the owner again after they both passed away. They did not sell at the estate sale so rather than mess with selling them on ebay, I put $15 on them and sold them at a garage sale I had 2 years ago. They had sterling silver ferrules, genuine stag handles, were unused, and in their original box. Were they worth more than that? Probably but I see sets priced higher at shops and they are still sitting there year after year. If you do not have a good carving set that you use now, I would at least take them out at Thanksgiving and carve the turkey in style.
