History of Porcelier?

Hi--I just bought a 1930's lamp with Porcelier china.  I wanted to read about the history of this china but could find nothing.  Any info/help would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Sometimes a company would have names such as porcelier, rather than porcelain to make its items stand out from the rest on the market. I have never heard of that term !!
Can you post a pic of the lamp ??

I see several references to the company "Porcelier" but no actual company information. So I think Mart may be right, maybe others online also think it was a company name when it was really just a fancy nickname for porcelain.

Cancel that first thought !!  Porcelier is a brand name !!  Just looked it up !! Did you search for "porcelier lamps" ?  I found a bunch of info !!  But going to bed now,, will read tomorrow !!
You might try searching for "Porcelier Lighting Co." for historical info !!

The only thing I could find about "Porcelier" beyond ebay ads to buy such items is this mention:

"1927        The Porcelier Manufacturing Co. worked in East Liverpool, Ohio and South Greenberg, Pa. until 1954. It made vitrified china teapots, bowls, cups, sugars, creamers and small electrical appliances. The items are now collectibles.
    (SFC, 9/4/96, Z1 p.5)"

Went back and looked again but found not much more than you currently have !!  They moved the company in 1930 to South Greenburg and were out of business in `54 because of the rise in popularity of plastics ect , so they said !!  You may have to go to the historical society in each town to find more info !!

That's interesting! I just found a vintage lamp with what seems to be from the 1930s. I haven't been able to dig up anything about this china though. It sounds French, maybe?  I wonder if it's a specific brand or a particular  style?  Hopefully someone out there knows more about it!
