masonic box

This is a rustic Masonic box with lid. It looks like wood but is made of a ceramic or porcelain material. We found it at an antique shop. Approx size is 4 1/2 inches by 4 inches by 1 1/2 inches.

Hi,

Any markings on the underside at all? What is the interior like, any chance of more pics?
Just a stab in the dark, but at that size it could be a table snuff box?

no markings what so ever. It was purchased for $14 at an antique shop and they couldn't tell me anything about it, just that it came in with a bunch of furniture. I figured it might be a snuff box but it would be interesting to know more about it. I can't find anything about it online. Here are more pics.

Looks like a trinket box that would sit on a dresser and hold cufflinks, coins, etc. Is it pottery for sure because it looks like that syroco wood material?

Here is a very similar syroco wood Masonic box http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/syroco-syrocco-masonic-trinket-card-cufflink-box   and here  http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-masonic-mason-s-syroco-wood-trinket-box   and here   http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/deco-masonic-syroco-burwood-trinket-card-cigarette
