Tiny drop leaf table

I found this little table at a yard sale . It was in pieces so i simply put it together but did not glue it yet
Its only 22'' tall and 21'' across . It resembles a big dining table . I wonder if its an old salesman sample ?
There is not one marking on it to be found . Tell me what you know .

Wouldn`t be a dining table type with those stretchers !!  Thats where your feet would be !!  So I do not think its a salesmans sample and it appears to have been made after those would have been used !! Its more of a 30`s or 40`s style  !!  If it were a bit taller I would say it was a telephone table !!

It's usually called a drop leaf occasional table.

I would glue it and finish it to your liking.  Still has years of pleasure to give!

Thanks . I want to make sure its not something special before any restoration . The original finish on everything below the top is savable . Unfortunately the top is to far gone to make look good again .

Even if there is lots of damage...the modern day way of chalk paint and antique finishes would make it a highly desirable piece!
