heavy lovebirds
« on: August 08, 2011, 09:00:51 am »
This small but are very heavily formats in some sort of stone 6x5x4, 5 cm and weighs 105 g. The color is black and it looks like it's a really old pair of lovers! Surprising that they stick together;-) still want to have some ideas about them, I know it is difficult to assess. Have searched a lot on the internet but not found anything

Swans usually mate for life so it is not surprising this pair is still together. Their is a black stone from China that is carved into many figures. I do not know if this is what you have.

The 'bump'  on the head (the more prominent would be the gander) causes me to believe these are Chinese geese......a friend of mine owns several.

Edited to add

Chinese animal symbolism......
http://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/Chinese_Customs/animals_symbolism.htm

"Goose (t: 鵝; s:鹅; pinyin; é) - delivery of matrimonial messenges, married bliss, resourcefulness"
