I don`t think its Nippon !! It is similar in style to what was produced here in the 50`s- 60`s !! Nippon literally means Japan and that was used on their glassware exported to the US. I think it means "Island of the sun" or something similar. Early in the 1900`s U.S. govt. required all items coming in to have country of origin so Nippon was changed to the word Japan !! After about 1950 it changed again to have the "Made in" added !! So chances are if it doesn`t say Nippon, it probably isn`t !! Ironlord can probably tell you more about your cup and saucer !!
