Assistance with Library Desk

I have a library desk that I'm curious to find out more about. The furniture label indicates that it was made by the Miller Cabinet Company in Rochester, NY. It seems to be from the early 1900s but I'm not entirely sure. I'm trying to decide whether to restore it or sell it. It has some issues such as a cracked base and someone seems to have put shellac on it. Pictures are below.

Its a nice little Empire style library table !! Where is the crack in the base ??  Are you talking about the white line I see in the last pic ??

Yes, that's where the crack is. There's also a scratch on the base. It is a pretty piece tough.
