Anyone familiar with this vase?
« on: September 01, 2011, 08:18:20 pm »
The vase has an embossed women from the back view with a bow that raps the bottom of the vase. I think it says on the bottom TCSS or TCCS. That's what I'm not sure of.

Yea I looked at this one but was unsure about it, other them being my favorite color of Glass and being a bud vase.  From the pic it appears to be glazed colored, from the kind of crack look on the surface, but was unsure.  For sure not viking of Fenton in style, those being the two bigger names in Bud vases.  Personnally not sure this has much value, but it is pink glass  :D

Very pretty piece!  I have found that if I hold a magnifying glass over the lens of my camera, I can get sharp detail on the markings that neither my naked eye nor my camera can see alone.  Would you be able to get a better shot of the stamping/logo?  Might help identify it.  Looks like pink or rose depression glass bud vase.

You can just barely see it on the pic that is on its side !!  Looks like the top of a womans head from the rear !! Just not sure that it is indeed an embossed figure !! Cant see the ribbon she mentioned in first post !! Better pics would help !!

I'm trying to trace on paper with tissue, but here's another picture. It's not clear enough.

To be honest, I can't make her out yet, either.  Isn't that so aggravating when you can see it because you have it in person but you can't convey it in a pic!  You even took it outside, LOL poor thing  ;)

Now I traced it! I'll post it tomorrow. What a job. It's not so easy. Tissue paper rips if you don't have the right pencil. I used a scripto and it's to sharp. This is a lesson in tracing. I have two successful ones, but I want to try one more thing. The paper wrinkles because the object is round. If you have a tip let me know. The paper also spins, oh and by the way don't do it near your dog! Tomorrow I'm going to try masking tape and pencil on top of that. My copies aren't bad, but they could be better. It's been a long day. I was stuck in a traffic jam on the highway . They closed the road with me on it. Please rent a truck companies stop renting rent a trucks to people who don't know how to drive them because they fiip them over and we all suffer!

I used washable marker. I didn't have masking tape. I'm still trying to get marks on the bottom.

I think this piece was never supposed to leave whatever factory it was produced from and was probably brought home by a worker. The bottom view shows for lack of a better word 3 of the inside toes extending out & three stopping much shorter. The base & toes are very unusual and the closest I have seen is like this called four pillars by Northwood   but not a match. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Northwood-Carnival-Glass-AO-Four-Pillars-Vase-/150658338248?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2313efcdc8
I also think the "embossed lady" is just a factory error. I did find a vase much taller but with a similar base that was an advertising piece marked  Hale Baths- Hot Springs, Ark. but no maker is known. Hopefully Ironlord has some more leads!!! ;)

I thought maybe that could have been the case. Beautiful vase though. It looks Victorian. Do you really think it is?
