Can anyone identify this type of glass...
« on: September 19, 2011, 10:06:26 am »
...I cannot find any info. There are a couple of stress cracks but overall the set is in great condition. Any idea what the value would be. Thank you.

Almost looks kind of like slag glass, for sure would be considered Art Glass, and made by a Art Glass Company, possible for the Murano area, but this is just a guess.

Here's some pictures. The problem is the Fenton all seem to have dark handles.

Snappers pieces are not one of  Fentons satin glass patterns.  The ones shown in greenacres post are acid etched patterns done by Fenton I believe called Ming. Snappers pieces are more along the lines of Fenton mosaic  - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fenton-fetty-mosaic-vase-/180726446522?pt=Antiques_Decorative_Arts&hash=item2a1422b9ba   Only in satin glass.  more than one color mixed. I have not seen the pieces of snappers in the Fenton line will need to dig more. But as ironlord said Art Glass.  Good lead greenacres  :)

Thanks everyone!!! I am currently researching "Spatter" glass -- a definite possibility. Anyone heard of this before?

Oh yes we have heard of spatter glass but I don`t think thats the type !!  I have seen this one before somewhere !!  It was made around the same time slag glass was made !! I mean the slag type that was popular during the 30`s and 40`s not the earlier stuff !!  I will think of it,, just give me time !!

As I thought, there are no markings on any of the pieces. The items appear to be colored from the inside. Also, if you look closely you can see a leaf pattern in the glass. Hope this helps. Thanks again.

I think Fenton Art Glass is right. I can see it better from the angle of the picture. Stuben had a glass similar style didn't they?
