Metal Vintage Lamp?

Another inheritance prize... Not sure ... but looks to be Bronze or Brass... says Japan on the bottom... Need to identify it

Appears to be 50`s brass,, Value,,$20. approx !!

In my neck of the woods $15 - $25.  All those Pinterest folks would love to get their hands on this!!!!!  They would have this spiffed into shabby chic in no time!
