Spent some time looking for more info but I came up short. IMO I think this is old and an original lithograph*, at least that is what I would call it. How old, I can't say nor did I come close to finding an artist with the exception of William-Adolphe Bouguereau (November 30, 1825 – August 19, 1905). Very prolific artist however, I'm sure others were doing the same thing.
Also refreshed my memory on lithographs vrs chromo's. It seems most use the term lithograph whether it is color or B&W and chromolithograph is reserved for lithographs that are printed in color (vrs painted over?) Some conflicting info out there for sure and lots of generalities. My several years of latin roots in high school makes me stick with chromolithography = pertaining to color lithography
*The term
original lithograph makes me smile a little bit since really, when you break it down, it's an old print of an original painting. What is cool is the technique and someday I would love to see how they did it!! What really makes me
is how on eBay there are umpteen sellers selling prints of an original lithograph. So basically they are selling a photocopy of a print of an original
I tell you, Americans will buy anything!!
